Unlock powerful insights into your content's performance by connecting your Google Analytics account to SEO Rocket. Once connected, SEO Rocket pulls key metrics for your published articles and displays them directly in the Analytics tab β€” so you can see which articles are driving traffic, how long visitors are staying, and where your audience is coming from, all without leaving the platform.

This integration is designed for Google Analytics 4 (GA4) properties.

Before You Begin

Make sure you have the following in place before connecting:

  • An active Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property set up for your website.

  • Editor or Administrator permissions on the GA4 property you want to connect.

Note: Universal Analytics (UA) is no longer supported by Google and is not compatible with this integration. If you haven't migrated to GA4 yet, please do so in your Google Analytics account before connecting.

How to Connect Google Analytics

  1. In your SEO Rocket dashboard, go to Settings β†’ Integrations.

  2. Find the Google Analytics card and click Enable Integration.

  3. You will be redirected to a Google sign-in screen. Choose the Google account that has access to your GA4 property.

  4. Review and grant the requested permissions to allow SEO Rocket to read your analytics data.

  5. Once authorized, you will be returned to SEO Rocket. Select your website's GA4 property from the dropdown menu.

  6. Click Save Changes.

Your Google Analytics account is now connected. Data for your published articles will begin to populate in the Analytics tab within a few hours.

What You Can See

Once connected, the Analytics tab will display the following data for each of your published articles:

Metric

Description

Page Views

Total number of times the article page was viewed

Unique Visitors

Number of individual users who visited the article

Avg. Engagement Time

How long visitors are actively reading the article

Traffic Source

Where your visitors are coming from (Organic, Direct, Social, etc.)

Troubleshooting

Property Not Appearing in Dropdown:
Ensure you selected the correct Google account during authorization and that your account has Editor or Administrator access to the GA4 property.

Connection Errors:
Try disconnecting the integration, then reconnecting. Make sure you grant all requested permissions during the Google authorization step.

No Data Showing:
Data can take several hours to appear for the first time. Also confirm that your website is actively receiving traffic and that your GA4 tracking tag is correctly installed on your site.

Authorization Expired:
If you change your Google account password or security settings, you may need to disconnect and reconnect the integration to re-authorize.
