Keyword Metrics

Once your keyword list is ready, you’ll see live SEO data next to each keyword. These metrics help you understand which ideas are most likely to attract traffic so you can focus on the topics that will bring the best results. Even if you’re not an SEO expert, these metrics make it simple to identify strong opportunities, avoid competitive or low-value keywords, and get the most out of your article credits.

If you prefer to move fast, use the High Opportunity filter to instantly view SEO Rocket’s top keyword suggestions.

Opportunity

Opportunity (High / Medium / Low) is your quick guide to choosing the best keywords. It combines search volume (how many people are searching for a term) with ranking difficulty to show where your best chances lie.

  • High: Excellent balance of search volume and low competition. Great for new sites or when you want quick wins.

  • Medium: Still valuable but may require more effort to rank.

  • Low: Often high competition or limited demand. These are harder to rank for and should be secondary priorities.

Sorting by High Opportunity is a great way to focus on keywords that deliver early momentum.

Difficulty

Difficulty measures how competitive a keyword is. The lower the number, the easier it will be to rank.

  • 0–10: Very easy

  • Below 15: Generally low competition and ideal for newer sites

  • 20–30: Moderate competition

  • 40+: Competitive and best for established websites

Start with lower-difficulty keywords to build traction faster and gradually move into more competitive spaces as your domain gains authority.

Search Volume

Search Volume shows the average number of monthly searches for a keyword. It helps you understand potential reach and audience interest.

  • 300–600 searches/month: A healthy range for newer or growing sites

  • 1,000+ searches/month: Strong potential if ranking is realistic

Aim for balance — combine moderate difficulty with steady search volume to target keywords that bring consistent, achievable traffic.

Search Intent

Search Intent identifies what the searcher is trying to achieve when they use a specific keyword. You’ll see intent represented by a single letter:

  • I: Informational (learning or researching)

  • C: Commercial (comparing options or researching before purchase)

  • T: Transactional (ready to buy)

  • N: Navigational (looking for a specific brand or site)

Matching your content to intent improves engagement and ranking potential. SEO Rocket’s AI automatically tailors article tone and structure to the detected intent, but understanding it helps you refine focus and call-to-action strategy.

CPC (Cost Per Click)

CPC (Cost Per Click) represents the average amount advertisers pay per click in Google Ads for that keyword.

A high CPC often signals strong commercial value — companies are paying because those searches convert into sales or leads. While these keywords might be more competitive, ranking for them organically can lead to higher conversions for your business.

Example: A keyword with CPC $16, Difficulty 6, and Opportunity: High is a strong target for both ranking potential and business impact.

Keywords Missing Data

In some cases, specific metrics like CPC or Difficulty may not be available, especially for smaller languages or niche industries. This is completely normal. The keyword is still valid for article generation and ranking.

Use the data that is available — such as Search Volume and Search Intent — and, if needed, click the Magnifying Glass icon to preview top-ranking Google results for context.

Making the Most of Keyword Metrics

Keyword metrics are guides, not rules. Use them to:

  • Identify strong opportunities

  • Avoid overly competitive or low-potential topics

  • Focus your article credits on what’s most likely to perform

At the same time, trust your experience. If a keyword feels right for your audience or brand, it may be worth pursuing even if the metrics aren’t perfect. Explore your list, star your top picks, and start generating content that drives real results with SEO Rocket.
