The Rank Tracker shows you exactly where your website ranks on Google for every keyword in your workspace. Instead of guessing whether your content is working, you get real position data, updated automatically, so you can see your progress and make smarter decisions about what to publish next.

Whether you're tracking a handful of local keywords or monitoring dozens of competitive terms, the Rank Tracker gives you a clear, honest picture of your SEO performance over time.

What the Rank Tracker Does

The Rank Tracker monitors your Google search rankings for all the keywords in your workspace. Every keyword you've added β€” whether through SEO Rocket's keyword research or manually β€” is automatically tracked and checked on a regular schedule.

At the top of the page, you'll see which domain is being tracked and how many keywords are currently being monitored.

Rankings are checked automatically on a recurring schedule. You can see when the last check occurred and when the next one is scheduled at the bottom of the summary section.

Summary Cards

The top of the Rank Tracker displays four summary cards that give you a quick snapshot of your current ranking performance:

Card

What It Shows

AVG Position

The average ranking position across all tracked keywords that have a position.

Top 3

How many of your keywords currently rank in positions 1 through 3 on Google.

Top 10

How many of your keywords currently rank in positions 1 through 10 (the first page of Google).

Movers

A quick count of keywords that moved up, moved down, or stayed the same since the last check.

These cards help you understand your overall ranking health at a glance without needing to scroll through every keyword.

Desktop and Mobile Rankings

The Rank Tracker includes Desktop and Mobile tabs at the top of the page. This lets you switch between viewing your rankings as they appear on desktop search results versus mobile search results.

Since Google uses mobile-first indexing, your mobile rankings are especially important. Checking both views helps you understand how your content performs across different devices and identify any gaps between the two.

Keyword Table

Keywords that are ranking display their position as a number. Keywords that are not yet ranking in the top results show a dash (β€”) in the Position, Change, Best, and URL columns.

You can sort the table by clicking on the Position column header, and you can use the Search keywords field above the table to quickly find a specific keyword.

Generating a Report

Click the Report button at the top to generate a summary report of your current rankings. This is helpful for sharing progress with your team or keeping a record of your SEO performance over time.

How Rankings Connect to Your Workflow

The Rank Tracker works hand-in-hand with the rest of SEO Rocket. As you publish articles through your content calendar, the keywords you target are automatically monitored here. Over time, you'll see your positions improve as your site builds authority and your content gets indexed.

Use the Rank Tracker to:

  • Validate your keyword strategy. See which keywords are gaining traction and which ones need more content or optimization.

  • Spot quick wins. Keywords ranking in positions 11 through 20 are close to the first page. Publishing additional supporting content around those topics can push them higher.

  • Track long-term growth. The Best column shows your highest-ever position for each keyword, so you can see your progress even if rankings fluctuate day to day.

  • Compare devices. Switch between Desktop and Mobile to make sure your content performs well across both.

Tips for Getting the Most Out of Rank Tracker

  • Be patient. New content typically takes two to four weeks to start appearing in search results. Give your articles time to get indexed before expecting movement.

  • Focus on trends, not daily changes. Rankings naturally fluctuate. Look at the overall direction over weeks and months rather than reacting to small daily shifts.

  • Use the Position Distribution chart to track your overall progress. A healthy trend shows keywords gradually moving from 100+ into the Top 50, Top 20, and eventually the Top 10.

  • Prioritize keywords close to page one. If you see keywords in positions 11 through 20, consider publishing more content around those topics to help push them onto the first page.

The Rank Tracker gives you the visibility you need to understand what's working and where to focus next. Combined with SEO Rocket's automated publishing, it turns your content strategy from guesswork into a data-driven growth engine.
